MGP COSMETICS
We ventured into business with 8 years of experience in marketing, merchandising, and sales, which helped us gain a deep understanding of the Omani market. It wasn’t just about a job for us, but about building our own business. We discussed the potential opportunities in the market, and in 2020, we decided to enter the cosmetics industry.
Our journey began with the support of our dear sponsor, Mr. Mohammed Munir, who shared his knowledge and offered unwavering support. He helped us with all the paperwork and ensured everything was done quickly and efficiently. His constant guidance has been like a safety net for us.
TURNING POINT
Our first product was a charcoal soap, which sold out quickly, marking the beginning of our success. We then expanded by sourcing products from the local market, but the margins were quite low. Eventually, we began importing products directly from the UAE. However, just as we were gaining momentum, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and lockdowns began. Sales stopped completely, but with the increased demand for sanitisers and masks, we pivoted our business to meet that need. We maintained our sales through this period, and after two years, we gradually reintroduced our core products.
